Dr. Robin Smit specializes in laser vision correction at the EYE-Q Laser Center, part of EYE-Q Vision Care. With over 10 years of experience in laser vision correction, Dr. Smit is leading the way by using the most advanced technology available today, including all laser LASIK.
Founding EYE-Q Laser Center in 1998, Dr. Smit's practice is devoted to refractive surgery. He has completed over 10,000 refractive procedures including CK, RK, PRK, Intacs and LASIK. Dr. Smit had LASIK done himself to correct his farsightedness. Dr. Smit earned his medical degree from Seton Hall University in New Jersey and is a board-certified ophthalmologist. He received his LASIK training with Dr. Stephen Slade in Shanghai, China in 1996. Dr. Smit is one of seven partners at EYE-Q Vision Care.
Dr. Smit is an experienced surgeon, but also a part-time artist, a long distance ultra runner, a golfer and Vietnam Veteran. He has been married for over 40 years to his wife Nancy, has two beautiful children, and is grandfather to two wonderful boys and a new baby girl.
Dr. Richard Moors provides general ophthalmic services and specializes in cataracts having performed over 10,000 surgeries. He was also one of the first surgeons in the central valley to offer the new Alcon ReSTOR multifocal intraocular lens.
Dr. Moors is originally from the state of Washington. He began his career by earning his medical degree from the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle, Washington. Following his internship at Los Angeles County of U.S.C. Medical Center he served three years as a flight surgeon in the United States Navy. He returned to Los Angeles County U.S.C. Medical Center for specialty training in ophthalmology.
Dr. Moors is a board-certified ophthalmologist and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He was a leading clinical investigator for the STARR surgical foldable intraocular lens. Dr. Moors is one of seven partners at EYE-Q.
In his free time, Dr. Moors enjoys aerobatic stunt flying, skiing and scuba diving.
Dr. Nerenberg specializes in cataract and LASIK surgery at EYE-Q Vision Care. He has performed thousands of cataract and refractive surgical procedures since becoming a partner over 20 years ago.
Dr. Nerenberg earned his medical degree at the University of California at San Francisco. He received prior degrees in physics and chemistry at UC Santa Cruz and in optometry at UC Berkeley where he graduated with highest honors.
Dr. Nerenberg is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons as well as the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He is a member of the California Medical Association and the Fresno-Madera County Medical Society. He is an instructor of ophthalmology at University Medical Center in Fresno and at the University of California at Davis and Merced.
Some of Dr. Nerenberg's other interests include: photography, music, and spending time with his wife and two small children.
Dr. Vivian Kim is one of seven partners at EYE-Q Vision Care and specializes in surgery and diseases of the retina and vitreous.
Dr. Kim earned her medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine, and is a board-certified ophthalmologist trained at U Penn's Scheie Eye Institute. In addition to being board-certified, Dr. Kim completed a two year vitreo-retinal fellowship at the internationally renowned New England Eye Center at Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston.
Before earning her medical degree, Dr. Kim received her Bachelor of Arts degree at Yale University. She also earned her Master's in Public Health from Tulane's School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine.
Dr. Kim's areas of expertise include: diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, retinal detachments and other vitreo-retinal disorders.
Dr. Brian E. Cavallaro specializes in glaucoma and cataracts at EYE-Q Vision Care. With more than a decade of experience in ophthalmology, he specializes in the diagnosis and management of glaucoma and cataracts.
Dr. Cavallaro earned his medical degree from the University of Health Sciences Chicago Medical School and is a board-certified ophthalmologist. He has also completed a glaucoma fellowship at the world-renowned Bascom Palmer Eye Institute at the University of Miami. Before earning his medical degree, Dr. Cavallaro received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California at Berkeley and continued on to earn his Masters of Science degree at the same institution.
Before joining EYE-Q Vision Care he had been in practice with the U.S. Army, most recently as the director of the glaucoma section at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C. Dr. Cavallaro is one of seven partners at EYE-Q Vision Care.
